Working with Corporate Clients within WILLIAMS Formula 1

I love how my job hairdressing has brought me into contact with a variety of interesting people, It’s always great to hear about their work and listen to them. It must be amazing and so exciting to work within the Sports Formula 1 Industry and travel to different race circuits watching your team and getting to know the Formula, 1 drivers. I really enjoy catching the Grand Prix now weekly and have an interest in how the British WILLIAMS Team is doing, especially.

I have been really lucky and my job has involved travel over the years when I was based in London but I now split my time with working with clients in my studio at home and working on my Bridal work creating beautiful hair for a special Wedding Day. It was wonderful to do the hair for James’ wife Sarah and her bridesmaids when they got married at Great Fosters Hotel and she has been a client for many years also.

Thank you James Bower for allowing me to use your picture and giving me the opportunity to write this for my website – Commercial Director WILLAMS Formula 1

Working with flowers

Using flowers in Bridal hair is a beautiful way of creating more detail to your chosen hairstyle. I love to help brides and show ideas with flowers. It creates a soft romantic look and is often a good way to keep costs down a little. Or it may just be that the look of flowers in your hair is how you envisage your Wedding day photos.

They can be used in many ways to create a soft festival or bohemian bride, or something simple and elegant or even with a more vintage look. Flower crowns are very pretty and I have used willow to create the actual crown and wired flowers onto the willow. I have also created flower pieces to add into the back or side of the hair, these are wired onto a fitting and happy to try this for you at the wedding trial or and on the Day! It’s also a lovely idea for flower girls for bridesmaids hair. A couple of pieces I have made in the pictures.

Wedding Fair Compleat Angler, Marlow March 8th 2020

It was lovely seeing the other wedding suppliers I work with at the Compleat Angler in march, meeting brides to be to hear about their plans. I wanted to show a model whose hair and makeup I did there at the wedding fair that morning, I like to give brides a chance to see me actually working and I can answer any questions they may have.

I set the hair in barrel curls as it was quite straight to create a soft romantic wave that I feel is quite on-trend at the moment in wedding hair, some of the hair was twisted and taken back to give half up half down look. I love to use seasonal flowers in hair, here I used wild blossom it’s so pretty the way the tiny petals fall off into the hair creating confetti. I also used a vintage seed pearl chain in the back of the hair which is beautifully simple and using something antique makes it very unique for the bride. There are many lovely accessories to explore to put into wedding hair and it’s personal to each bride and what they feel suits their dress most and the style of the overall wedding. I’m always happy to help if suggestions are needed with this and can we discussed at the hair trial.

Wedding Fair Compleat Angler 19th Jan 2020

What a great start to 2020. It was lovely being back at the Compleat Angler in Marlow. A really pretty setting for a wedding on the River Thames. I work within a group  of other wedding suppliers called ‘The Best Wedding Suppliers’ we are all professionals within the wedding Industry and will help you make your wedding day beautiful and bespoke to you.

My day started with doing the makeup on my model i was working there in front of everyone so brides could see all the  products i use etc. I wanted to go for a pretty and fresh look that i felt suited the model and style of wedding dress she was wearing. I really enjoy doing wedding makeup as well as hair i love to see the  whole look develop it’s so nice to spend time with the brides and so exciting for them and a really happy time.

The hair came next. I like to  work out a wedding plan for my brides in advance which we have discussed. I usually try 3 looks on their hair in the trial from this plan and for this event i showed a very soft modern wave with the hair down, a  low ponytail followed with twist detail at the front, simple and chic.Lastly i showed a low bun with twisted knot detail, a very soft and modern look.

I used some beautiful spring miniature Narcissi which really kept the look modern and fresh. I also showed some detail with a diamante bracelet in the hair which could be worn on a few different ways, this gives brides ideas on what they would like to wear accessory wise in their hair

I also gave a short presentation to some prospective brides on what my company JSB Hair does and my passion for my work in  bridal hair and makeup. I went on to show the models hair and  talk about what i had done and how i had achieved it, this was followed by me giving my ideas on what the Bridal hair trends will be for 2020.

Hair by me using Aveda hair products.

Makeup by me using Charlotte Tilbury.

Marjans wedding preparation

It was the morning of Marjan and simons wedding. I arrived at the venue and set up for prepping her hair by tonging it into a barrel curl to give soft volume and smooth it. I could then leave this for a while so I could do her make-up. I hadn’t been able to do a pre-wedding trial with the bride as she didn’t have time and was located a fair distance from the wedding location and me. We had discussed ideas via email and she had sent me pictures of what she liked, it was a soft textured bun with some height.

I had also been shown pictures the bridesmaid was considering, we worked out a suitable idea for her hair texture as it needed lots of smoothing and we didn’t have a great deal of time before the service started. Marjan had also asked if I could cut the groom’s hair as he hadn’t had time in the run-up. I was so pleased I could get everyone done in such a time-sensitive situation and they could go on to have an amazing Wedding day.

Although it was an incredibly busy morning for me it was so lovely to meet such great people!

Windsor Race Course Wedding Fair

The Sunday before last certainly had an Autumnal feel. The Windsor Race course was holding it’s Wedding Fair and I was there talking to potential Brides and styling hair.

I had spent time over the week thinking and preparing a mood board of ideas  and inspirations to show how my design process is brought together. This can help the Bride if she needed some hair ideas to work with her dress/location etc, although some do have a very clear vision and like to decide for themselves and this is of course their choice.

I decided on a theme of natural forms, with subtle emphasis on nature and curve and interpreted that into a simple modern look.

Here are a few  of the pictures from the day!

Vicky and Russell’s wedding, Compleat Angler Marlow

What a gorgeous setting at the Compleat Angler in Marlow for the wedding of Vicky and Russell. She has married her soulmate and it was so lovely to have been involved in their special day.
I’d had a really busy morning styling the Bride and Bridesmaids hair. Vicky was so relaxed and happy while she was getting ready around her bridesmaids sipping the odd glass of bubbly and music playing. I’m sure the day went beautifully, if not, a tiny bit emotional, the odd happy tear but lots of happiness and laughter.

The pretty grounds of the Compleat Angler are perfect for a riverside wedding and private boat ride on the Thames.

Congratulations to Vicky and Russell and wishing you lots of love and Happiness always!

It was lovely to work with such a great team:
